Last Night’s Drink was a gift from one of the bartenders at the Flatiron Lounge. We had stopped in one evening last year and was chatting with the bartender about the drink after taking a couple of sips. I can’t remember exactly how, but suddenly we had the recipe and he had a really big tip.
I love this drink. The combination of tequila with the complex Carpana vermouth and Cynar bitter liqueur is a little smoky, spicy, herbal and leaves the drinker feeling like there’s not much else to do but sit and have another.
XX oz Milagro Anejo Tequila
XX oz Carpana Antiqua Vermouth
XX oz Cynar
XX Angostura Bitters
Stir all, strain into cocktail glass and garnish with orange twist.
*The drink has not been published to my knowledge so I’ve not included the proportions. I have listed the ingredients because anyone could get this information off the menu. Please visit the Flatiron and ask for a Slowpoke. It’s worth the trip.
